Yunfei Lv, Male, PhD, Associate Professor, born in January 1977, from Hailin in Heilongjiang Province.
His main research interests are underwater target detection and recognition, vector signal processing and the design of detecting sonar system. He has long been engaged in the design of passive detection sonar systems for small platforms, researching on weak signal detection techniques under complex marine environmental conditions, working on passive detection and identification of underwater targets, and studying on very low frequency (VLF) / low-frequency vector signal technologies and low-noise acoustic vector submerged buoy technology.

Shi’e Yang, a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering
Academician Yang Shi’e created China’ first integrated professional underwater acoustic engineering major in science and engineering, and developed the first professional backbone of underwater acoustics. His monograph includes Underwater Noise Science and Principles of Waterborne Sound Communication, and The Acoustics Principle. He has made outstanding contributions to the construction and decision-making of Chinese underwater acoustic science. The earliest research on underwater acoustic positioning systems was carried out in China, which led to the development and completion of a series of long-baseline, short-baseline, and ultra-short baseline hydro-acoustic positioning systems with international advanced levels and for different purposes. As a chief scientist, he actively promoted and led the completion of China’s various independent large-scale comprehensive deep sea acoustics inspection missions, and obtained a large number of valuable data, setting a precedent for China’s independent deep sea acoustic investigation. As a pioneer of hydrodynamic noise research in China, he has solved the internationally pending water hole noise reduction and measurement methods problem, led the basic research of mine detection sonar technology, and proposed a new approach to target recognition.
Academician Yang Shi’e currently undertakes a number of national major scientific research projects and the work of mentors for doctoral and master’s students. He is still working diligently and dedicatedly for the education and underwater acoustics research in China.
In 1950, due to requirement of missions, he graduated from the Department of Physics in Tsinghua University to teach at the Dalian Naval Academy.
He has published more than 100 papers in renowned publications from home and abroad.
He is one of the Chinese well-known experts in mechanical and transportation engineering, one of the key pioneers in Chinese Underwater Acoustic Science and Technology, the nation’s first batch of doctoral supervisors, and the first batch winners of national special allowances. He once served as vice president of the Harbin Institute of Shipbuilding Engineering and vice chairman of the Chinese Society of Acoustics. He has been honored as an advanced science and technology worker of the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, an advanced worker of the People’s Government of Heilongjiang Province, and a national outstanding teacher. He once served as a member of the National Board of Education Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Evaluation Committee and a member of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee. Currently he is the expert of the ship group of the Expert Consultation Committee of the National Commission for Science & Technology, and Industry for National Defense. He is also a part-time member of the Scientific and Technical Committee of the General Armament Department, and a member of the Harbin Expert Advisory Committee. In 1995, he was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
